Ms. Smierat holds a Bachelor's of Law (L.L.B) from the University of Jordan.
She worked in the legal department in Abu-Ghazaleh Group and this enhanced her knowledge in different aspects of intellectual property.

Ms. Smierat works as a Lawyer in Aljazy & Co. in Commercial law aspects like Corporate Law, Trade Marks, Trade names and Labor Cases. Ms. Smierat has also extensive experience in Intellectual Property rights including but not limited to; filing and registering Trademarks, Patents and Copyrights. In addition to filing cases against infringing trademarks, for national and international companies.

Ms. Smierat is also working as a liaison officer for registering off shores companies in Jersey with Nautilus Trust Company, and has attended many national and international workshops in this regard in Jersey (Channel Islands).

Ms. Smierat has worked on many projects with International entities regarding matters of Anti Corruption, Human Rights, Venture Capital and Seed Capital Funds.

Ms. Smierat participated in different Legal seminars, concerning the intellectual property in Jordan, since that she is a member of Arab society of intellectual property ASIP, and is a member of the Jordanian Bar.
